Welfare technology conference
Charity Technology Conference is a meeting place for all who are concerned about the welfare technology and the interactionreform.
We are moving into a society where there are more elderly people needing care and fewer that are working.Future challenges must be solved in new ways. Society will not have enough resources to build hospitals and nursing homes to care for all, and we must solve the challenge organizational as well as technical.
Scotland is a good example of how they have addressed the issue early. Already more than 15 years ago they decided that they had to do something to meet the challenge and they have many good examples of the use of technology and the reorganization of services, which means that many who were previously dependent on the institutional space currently manages itself home with the help of support from technology and people.
The target group for the conference is interdisciplinary. We hope to gather professionals from local authorities, health, education & research and from the companies so that together we can meet, discuss and exchange experiences for further work.
Charity Technology includes all types of technologies or services that enable greater self-reliance, independence and dignity for those who receive health services or who will manage even the most.
Welfare Technology aims to support and enhance users' safety and security, enable greater self-reliance and participation and thus contribute to increased quality of life.
The English term for Prosperity Technology is Ambient Assisted Living. Many people in Norway also uses the term healthcare technology.
The first Charity Technology Conference was held in June 2010 at Rica Hell with 130 participants. It was a great desire to make the event an annual national meeting place for all who are concerned about the welfare technology. At the request of last year we decided to make this a major annual event in Norway. The conference will later be able to alternate between various cities
