Through funding from the Arena program, which is a joint initiative between Innovation Norway, the Research Council of Norway and SIVA, was the 2005/2006 conducted a pilot project in central Norway where relevant companies were interviewed about cooperation, major challenges and what they would like that useful activities in such a network. This resulted in an application for a main project "Go to Market" which was granted at the end of 2006/2007, and currently runs for 3 years out 2009.

In addition to direct academic benefit that companies can have from participation in the various events organized by MedITNor will also be offered grants to individual companies in conjunction with participation in a number of study tours and messe-/conference events.
